Buyer safety

Pay safely on LinkDuka

Pay only through the shop's LinkDuka page. Checkout tells you who receives your money before you enter your M-PESA PIN, so you always know where it goes.

1. Pay only through the shop page

Tap Pay on the product or cart page and approve the M-PESA prompt that appears on your phone. If a seller asks you to send money to a personal number in a chat instead, do not pay. Report the shop below.

2. Check who receives your money

Before you pay, checkout shows where the money goes: the shop's own M-PESA Paybill or Till, or the seller's verified account through Paystack. If the name on your M-PESA prompt looks wrong, cancel the prompt.

3. Look for the Verified seller badge

The badge is free and cannot be bought. It means the owner's phone number is verified and the shop's payment account passed its name check. Also read the shop's customer ratings and its returns policy.

4. Keep your order link and receipt

After paying you get a tracking link and a receipt with your M-PESA code. If an order does not arrive or arrives wrong, use "Report a problem" on the tracking page. For orders paid through Paystack, the seller's payout can be held while LinkDuka reviews your report.

5. Never share codes or PINs

LinkDuka and genuine sellers never ask for your M-PESA PIN or a code sent to your phone. Only type your PIN into the official M-PESA prompt.
