Reorder point & safety stock calculator

Work out the exact stock level for your next order, plus a safety buffer that covers your busy days and slow suppliers - so you never run out of a fast-selling product again.

Free, instant, and built to keep your shelves stocked.

How to calculate a reorder point

Reorder point = average units sold per day × supplier lead time in days + safety stock. If you sell 20 units daily, delivery takes 7 days, and you keep 105 units as a buffer, reorder when stock reaches 245 units. Use actual supplier delivery times and recent sales for each product.

Compare today's stock

Enter what you have on hand to see whether you should order today or how many days of cover remain.

Run out = lost sales

Stock out costs more than you think

When a product is out of stock, three things happen: you lose today's sale, the customer may buy that item from a competitor instead, and you train them to look elsewhere next time. Stocking out repeatedly quietly shrinks your customer base.

The fix is a simple habit. Set a reorder point for each fast-moving product, and the moment stock falls to it, order. You keep a small safety buffer for surprises - a busier Friday than expected, or a supplier who takes an extra two days - but you no longer tie up cash by over-ordering every product to be safe.

For LinkDuka sellers

Track stock as orders come in

LinkDuka sellers keep their inventory in the shop dashboard, so the numbers here connect straight to your real stock. Watch fast movers closely, plan orders from this reorder point, and let the calculator tell you when stock is low.

Reorder point questions

A reorder point is the stock level at which you should place your next order, so new stock arrives just as you need it. It is your daily sales multiplied by the supplier lead time, plus a safety buffer for unexpected demand or delays.
