Find the sales your business needs each month to pay every cost, then turn that number into a practical daily target.
Break-even is the point where your sales have paid for the costs of operating the business. It is not your profit goal; it is the minimum number you need to pass before each additional profitable sale starts creating profit.
For a shop, salon, service business, or online seller, use realistic monthly averages. If you sell several products or services, start with your average sale price and average direct cost, then update the result as your sales mix changes.
Add your monthly fixed costs, then divide them by the amount left from each sale after direct costs and payment fees. Round up because you need whole sales. This calculator does the calculation for you.

How this tool works
Use a realistic average sale, rather than your most expensive item, so the result reflects the sales mix your business normally receives.
Break-even sales = monthly fixed costs divided by contribution per sale. Contribution per sale is the sale price less direct costs such as stock, packaging, delivery support, and transaction fees.
With KSh 60,000 fixed monthly costs and KSh 600 contribution from each sale, the business needs 100 sales a month. Across 25 selling days, that is four sales a day.
