Calculate what you earn from your sales, check your total pay, and set a clear sales target for your commission goal.
Quick answer: multiply your sales by the commission rate and divide by 100. KES 50,000 in sales at 5% is 50,000 × 5 ÷ 100 = KES 2,500 commission.
Multiply qualifying sales by the commission rate, then divide by 100. At 5% on KSh 100,000 in qualifying sales, commission is KSh 5,000. Check your agreement for returns, cancelled sales, thresholds, and whether VAT is excluded before calculating your final pay.
Commission is easiest to track when you know the sales amount that qualifies and the exact percentage in your agreement. Record sales, returns, and any targets during the month so you can compare your own calculation with the final payslip.
This tool uses a flat percentage. If your employer pays different rates after a target, on different products, or only after customers pay, calculate each group separately and add the results.
Multiply the qualifying sales value by the commission rate, then divide by 100. For example, 5% of KSh 100,000 is KSh 5,000.

How this tool works
Use the sales value and percentage in the written commission agreement. Returns, cancelled orders, thresholds, and different product rates may need separate calculations.
Commission = qualifying sales multiplied by the commission percentage. Add basic pay only after calculating commission, so you can see both figures clearly.
At 5% commission on KSh 180,000 qualifying sales, commission is KSh 9,000. With a KSh 25,000 basic salary, total gross earnings are KSh 34,000 before deductions.
