Yes. The file is read entirely in your browser using JavaScript - nothing is uploaded, stored, or sent to LinkDuka. Once you close the page, the data is gone.

It totals money in and money out and shows the net movement across the transactions in the file. Use it as a quick pattern check - for example, confirming what you collected through M-Pesa - and reconcile it against your sales and expense records.

Check the file has a header row and that amounts appear in a single column the tool can detect. Statements exported as Excel (.xlsx) are not supported - re-export as CSV. Some exports also contain rows without amounts, which are skipped.

It scans the CSV header row for an amount column (Amount, Paid In, Paid Out, or Value) and a details column (Details, Description, Transaction, or Narration), plus a date column when present. It reports which columns it detected, and it needs a header row and at least one transaction to analyse the file.

No. The tool reads CSV files only, so re-export your statement from the M-Pesa app or web portal as a CSV file. Quoted CSV fields are supported and rows without an amount are skipped, but the file itself must be plain CSV for the analysis to run.

It classifies each row from the transaction description: Paybill, Buy Goods, or Till payments become Business payment; agent or ATM withdrawals become Withdrawal; airtime and bundles are grouped together; send-money and transfers are separate; and received money forms its own category. Anything unrecognised falls into Other, so you can see where your M-Pesa money moves.

It flags a row as a possible duplicate when it sees the same date, description, and amount more than once in the file. This often happens when an export includes both an SMS log and a statement, or when a pending transaction is listed twice. The flagged count warns you to review before reconciling totals.

Yes. The analyzer includes a Download summary CSV button that exports the category breakdown, money in, money out, and net movement as a CSV file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets. The download happens entirely in your browser, so no statement data is sent to any server.
